The technology sector serves as a vital pillar for Risun's implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy. Risun boasts 17 national high-tech enterprises, a team of over 1,000 R&D engineers (including 100 Ph.D. holders and 556 master's degree holders), 17 Group-level research institutes, and a comprehensive infrastructure comprising 20,000 square meters of specialized R&D laboratories, 130,000 square meters of pilot testing bases, 3 provincial-level engineering technology research centers, 3 provincial-level technology innovation centers, 1 provincial-level key laboratory, 8 provincial-level enterprise technology centers, 7 provincial-level industrial enterprise R&D institutions (Grade A), 6 national-level testing centers, as well as research and innovation platforms such as academician and expert workstations, postdoctoral research stations, and postdoctoral innovation practice bases.


Centered around the dual objectives of "serving profitability" and "serving development", we adhere to the overarching positioning of "upgrading and transforming the industrial chain through technological services to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Group's existing industries, while developing new products, processes, and technologies to lead the Group's new industrial development". We also focus on renewable energy sectors such as hydrogen, SNG (Synthetic Natural Gas), wind, solar, and biomass energy, aiming to develop energy-saving, emission-reduction, green, and low-carbon technologies. In addition, we explore new materials, including high-end carbon materials, cathode materials, anode materials, high-performance fiber materials, silicon materials, and new chemical materials, along with their technological advancements and market development. We pay close attention to digital industries, engaging in research and development of technologies such as industrial internet platforms, big data, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and robotics, as well as offering smart factory and smart water management hardware and software products and solutions. Furthermore, we prioritize advanced chemicals, focusing on the development of processes and equipment for styrene-polyolefin, benzene-cyclohexanone-caprolactam-nylon, hydrogen-ammonia-nitric acid-adipic acid-nylon 66, and high-end functional chemicals. To support these endeavors, we have established a three-tiered R&D and innovation system, spanning from the Group's Chief Engineer and Production Technology Department, through the Engineering Technology Research Centers/Technology Innovation Centers/Enterprise Technology Centers in each base, to the Production Technology Departments of individual production companies, as well as Beijing Risun Science and Technology Limited and its affiliated technology engineering companies and technical departments. This structure enables us to build two major R&D and innovation systems: "From Scratch" (new product, process, and technology development) and "Technological Transformation and Improvement Measures" (continuous optimization and upgrading of existing facilities). Consequently, we have formed a comprehensive R&D industrial chain encompassing idea generation, laboratory testing, pilot testing, industrialization, and engineering design. It conducts process simulation and process research; it carries out the development of basic data packages and complete process packages.

It conducts exploration, small-scale and pilot studies around the development needs of the group in the field of new energy and the development of upstream and downstream products of silicon materials; it conducts research and development of silicon material industry chain production equipment around issues such as production process improvement, equipment capacity expansion, quality improvement, energy conservation and consumption reduction, as well as bottlenecks faced in production.
Positive Electrode Material Research Institute

Alcohol Ammonia Research Institute
It conducts research and transformation on energy-saving, technological upgrading, and production and quality improvement technologies for the existing methanol and synthetic ammonia and supporting facilities of the group; it conducts research on clean and efficient conversion and utilization technologies and equipment for coal; it carries out downstream industry layout related to methanol and synthetic ammonia, and researches, approves, develops, and promotes new projects, products, and process technologies.

Dual Carbon Research Institute

Xingtai Base "Hebei Province Coal Chemical Engineering Technology Research Center (Hebei Province Coal Chemical Technology Innovation Center)"
It is the only coal chemical engineering technology research center approved by the provincial government in Hebei Province. It has been operating stably for 16 years since its establishment in 2007, and has been continuously evaluated as excellent or good at the provincial level. It focuses on new coking technologies, coal based new materials, high-end chemicals, and energy conservation and emission reduction. It has undertaken 50 government projects, independently developed hundreds of projects, formulated 8 national standards, obtained 600 patents, and received 34 scientific and technological awards. It effectively extends the industrial chain, increases product added value, and solves common and key bottleneck problems in the industry.
Xingtai Base "Hebei Province Key Laboratory of Coal Chemical Pollution Reduction and Control"
It is one of the first provincial-level key laboratories in Hebei Province to be constructed and accepted. It conducts forward-looking basic research on water conservation, resource utilization, and comprehensive flue gas treatment, as well as research on common key technologies before competition, in response to the needs of the new environmental protection field in coal and coke chemical industry. It has carried out 54 research projects, led or participated in the formulation of 9 national and industry standards, obtained 64 authorized patents and 5 scientific and technological achievements, effectively supporting regional technological innovation and leading high-quality industrial development.
Xingtai Risun Coal Chemicals Limited "Hebei Province Enterprise Technology Center"
It carries out research on coal tar deep processing, refining and separation technology, as well as crude benzene hydrogenation refining process, and has achieved innovative results such as coal tar deep processing and upgrading optimization, benzene hydrogenation refining and upgrading optimization, sewage treatment and waste gas treatment device transformation, heating furnace flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, and new process preparation of modified asphalt, thereby providing scientific research services and technical support for the company's high-quality asphalt production.
Hebei CNC Risun Energy Limited "Hebei Province Enterprise Technology Center"
It carries out technological innovation research projects in the coking field, focusing on the research of coal blending and new carbon reduction technologies. It develops technologies such as lithofacies coal blending, coking coal loading automation, new coke quenching, coal coke gasification, and deep environmental protection treatment, providing new technology, new process development direction, and technical support for the company's coking production innovation.
Hebei CNC Risun Energy Limited "Hebei Province Industrial Enterprise R&D Institution (A-level)"
It has carried out over 50 technological research and development projects, resulting in 36 patented technologies and 31 proprietary technologies. It establishes the technical guarantee that the quality of coke meets the national first-class coke standard and the energy consumption of the product is much lower than the industry's 110kgce/t energy consumption level. Therefore, it has been awarded the title of Energy Efficiency Leader in the coking industry by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

It is the first batch of A-level R&D institutions for industrial enterprises above designated size in Hebei Province recognized by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei Province. It relies on the continuous research and innovation of the company's coal tar deep processing and crude benzene hydrogenation refining equipment, and has successively implemented crude benzene transformation projects, tar phase one process optimization transformation projects, tar phase two asphalt and phase one washing industry naphthalene production improvement projects. It has 21 authorized patents and possesses industry-leading technological level and capabilities. Through process and equipment research and development, a series of technological upgrades and optimizations have been successfully implemented for the company's 200,000 tons/year methanol plant, achieving a production capacity of over 220,000 tons/year, a 100% premium product rate, and energy efficiency lower than the national advanced level. The laboratory covers an area of 3,000 square meters and has more than 100 sets of various testing equipment, including 20 sets of world-class testing equipment. It can detect and analyze coking coal, metallurgical coke, benzene, alcohols, etc. It provides professional product quality testing services for Risun and the national coal chemical industry.
Dingzhou Base Engineering Technology Research Center
It has established laboratories accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, as well as provincial innovation platforms and fine chemical platform demonstration devices, dedicated to optimizing and upgrading existing facilities in the park, and developing efficient, clean, and high value-added technologies, achieving a series of key technological breakthroughs. It has formed 67 intellectual property rights, independently developed and pioneered a green catalytic preparation process for amino alcohols, breaking down foreign technological barriers and filling the gap in domestic independent production of this product.
Dingzhou Base "Hebei Province Coking Clean Production and By-product Resource Utilization Technology Innovation Center"
It is committed to promoting the green transformation of the coking industry through research on clean production and by-product resource utilization technologies. It has successfully developed multiple clean production technologies with independent intellectual property rights, effectively reducing energy consumption and pollutant emissions in the coking process. Hebei Risun Energy Limted "Hebei Province Industrial Enterprise R&D Institution (A-level)"
It is committed to improving the production and quality of coke, and continues to develop and introduce advanced technologies. Among them, the large block metallurgical coke compaction production technology specially developed for large blast furnaces significantly improves the particle size and strength of coke, fully meeting the production requirements of blast furnaces with a capacity of over 2,000 cubic meters, and reducing the coke fertilizer coal ratio by more than 10% compared to top loading furnaces under the same indicators. This reduces production costs, strengthens the competitive advantage of Risun coke, and sets a new benchmark for industry quality.

Laoting Base Engineering Technology Research Center
It has a 1,300 square meter modern laboratory, a 5,000 tons/year alkyd resin production line, a multifunctional polyester pilot plant, and 126 sets of research and development instruments and equipment. It has the ability to conduct small-scale experiments such as industrial catalyst evaluation, separation, and synthesis, and is committed to the development and introduction of more than 30 R&D projects in the production and development of new materials and fine chemical technologies. It is market-oriented, based on the model of industry university research cooperation, and centered on the construction of independent R&D capabilities. It conducts research on existing equipment technological transformation measures, new products and technologies, industry commonalities and key technology theories, extends the industrial chain of the base, and improves product added value.

It has a modern research and development plant of 5,830 square meters, a 2,000 tons/year polyamide thermoplastic elastomer production line, a hexahydrate hydrogenation side line, a decomposition kettle side line, a 20 tons/year elastomer pilot plant, and more than 100 units/sets of advanced R&D equipment. It has undertaken more than 20 R&D projects, formed 46 intellectual property rights, and completed 9 major achievements transformation projects. It has achieved significant innovation breakthroughs in the preparation process of caprolactam, high-end polyamide new materials and their modification technologies.
Cangzhou Base "Hebei Province Enterprise Technology Center"
It integrates technology research, development, experimentation, innovation, and introduction, fully utilizing the resources and talent advantages of the base, completing more than 40 research and development projects such as gas-liquid separation technology for the ammonia cooling system of the cyclohexanone plant, simulation and optimization of solvent rearrangement process, and high-performance polyamide thermoplastic elastomers, and achieving industrial transformation. This effectively improves the variety of products in the base, enhances the value of base products, and strengthens the comprehensive competitiveness of the base.
Cangzhou Base "Hebei Province R&D Technology Center (A-level)"

Hohhot Base Engineering Technology Research Center
It conducts technological research, process optimization, achievement transformation, industrial application, and scientific and technological innovation platform construction around the low-carbon utilization of coal-based and carbon-based solid waste and the preparation of high-value materials. It has formed 18 intellectual property rights and been recognized by the autonsomous region level enterprise technology center. This lays the technical support for the high-quality development of the base and the full play of the role of Risun China Gas as the "main enterprise of the six major industrial clusters in Hohhot".
Hohhot Risun China Gas Energy Limited Testing Center
It has been recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS L20868), and can issue reports with CNAS accreditation marks. It has the qualification for international mutual recognition of testing data. The laboratory covers an area of over 700 square meters and has more than 110 sets of various testing equipment. Its testing capabilities cover raw materials and products such as bituminous coal, metallurgical coke, crude benzene, tar, industrial methanol, ammonium sulfate, liquid ammonia, etc.
Pingdingshan Base "Henan Province Asphalt Based Functional Carbon Materials Engineering Technology Research Center"
It is committed to process optimization and key technology research of asphalt based functional carbon materials, developing a variety of high-end carbon materials such as needle coke, intermediate phase asphalt, isotropic coke, coated asphalt, and asphalt based soft carbon. The product is applied in the fields of ultra-high power graphite electrodes, special carbon materials, and lithium negative electrodes, and has formed a coal-based asphalt industry system for supporting development in coal chemical industry, carbon materials, new energy, and other industries.
Yuncheng Base Testing Center
It has been recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS L16960), and can issue reports with "accreditation" marks. It has the qualification for international mutual recognition of testing data. It has multiple domestic first-class detection and analysis equipment and a first-class detection and analysis team, with detection capabilities covering five categories of 22 raw materials and product fields, including coal, coke, coal tar, pure benzene, adipic acid, etc.
Beijing Risun Science and Technology Limited Analysis and Testing Center
It has been recognized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS: L13266), and can issue analysis and testing data and reports with CNAS accreditation marks, possessing international mutual recognition qualifications for testing data. It mainly conducts analysis and testing of basic organic raw materials, catalysts, polymers, and materials, as well as research on analysis and testing methods. It can establish analysis methods based on research and development innovation needs, analyze unknown substances, catalyst characterization, chemical product evaluation, etc.
Beijing Risun Science and Technology Limited "Beijing Enterprise Technology Center"
It was established with the recognition of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, responsible for formulating the company's technological innovation plan, conducting industrial technology research, creating and utilizing intellectual property rights, establishing a technical standard system, gathering and cultivating innovative talents, building a collaborative innovation network, and promoting the implementation of the entire process of technological innovation. It focuses on four major directions: new energy, new materials, digital industry, and high-end chemical industry, thereby assisting the company and the group in making breakthroughs in research and development of innovative technologies.

It has a strong R&D team composed of planning and design experts and solution engineers, including more than 10 PhDs and senior engineers and more than 30 core personnel in various positions.
