Risun Hohhot Base, on the basis of coking and deepening of the industrial chain, is a modern coal chemical, new energy, and new material circular economy smart industrial base built by Risun Group in Qingshuihe Economic Development Zone, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia. Based on the capital increase and share expansion in August 2019, it acquired the former Inner Mongolia China Gas and established Hohhot Risun China Gas Energy Limited It also started a project based on the 900,000 tons/year coking and 100,000 tons/year methanol integrated unit that had been shut down for nearly five years. The base is located in Qingshuihe Economic Development Zone, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, covering an area of 6,000 mu. It has 7 companies including Hohhot Risun China Gas Energy Limited, Qingshuihe Risun Energy Limited, Hohhot Risun Hydrogen Energy Limited, and Qingshuihe Risun Energy Technology Limited. It is equipped with 3.6 million tons/year coking plants (four 6.78-meter tamping coke ovens), 450,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia plants, 2 × 260t/h dry quenching coke plants, and 2×35MW power generation plants, forming an annual production scale of 3.6 million tons of coke, 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 100,000 tons of methanol, 480 million cubic meters of hydrogen, 140,000 tons of tar, and 47,000 tons of crude benzene. At the same time, it has started construction of a 300,000 tons/year research and operation center for carbon based new materials and modern chemical new materials, planning to establish the guiding ideology of "promoting on-site energy conversion, developing high-end manufacturing, and extending the industrial chain" and the development concept of "creating a fine chemical industry chain, a carbon based new materials industry chain, and a photovoltaic silicon materials industry chain".
At the beginning of the establishment and settlement of Risun Hohhot Base in Hohhot, it only took 128 days to achieve comprehensive resumption of production, making profits that year and paying taxes immediately. It plans new projects according to the integrated and park-based model. On September 24, 2020, during COVID-19, it decisively started the construction of 3.6 million tons/year coking and 300,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia. It started production on August 5, 2022 and achieved full production and efficiency on June 19, 2023. It resolutely responds to the overall planning and deployment of the government, and completed the shutdown and withdrawal of 900,000 tons of 4.3-meter coke ovens on September 26, 2023 (the device was put into operation and resumed production from December 2019 to August 2023, producing a total of 3.3414 million tons of coke, achieving an industrial output value of 8.777 billion yuan and a profit and tax of 867 million yuan, making important contributions to society); it has won honorary qualifications such as National High-tech Enterprise, Excellent High-tech Enterprise in Digital Construction, Level 3 Enterprise in Safety Production Standardization (dangerous chemicals), Enterprise Technology Center in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Occupational Health Enterprise in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Main Enterprise of Six Industrial Cluster Chains in Hohhot, Hohhot May Day Labor Medal and Certificate, Hohhot Enterprise Research and Development Center, and Exemplary Organization of Hohhot Safe Production Month.
Looking towards the future, Risun Hohhot Base adheres to the development positioning of "world-leading green circular economy industrial base for fine chemicals, new materials, and new energy", based on the coking industry, laying out fine chemicals, new materials, and silicon materials industries, accelerating the planning and implementation of integrated coking and silicon materials industry projects, tar projects, and other projects. It supports investment in railway, water supply, power supply, green electricity, coal washing, operation and management center, research and development center, administrative center and other projects, promoting the transformation towards a diversified product system of coal based new materials, carbon based new materials, negative electrode materials, polycrystalline silicon, industrial silicon, photovoltaic power stations, and building a "energy and chemical integration" large circular industrial chain. It creates a comprehensive base with multifunctional supporting facilities, multi-industry layout, high-end, green, low-carbon, and integrated features.
