(Hong Kong, 9 Jun 2023) - China Risun Group Limited (“China Risun”, or the “Group”, stock code: 1907), a leading global integrated coke, coking chemicals and refined chemicals producer and supplier and relevant operation management services provider in China, conducted the 2023 “June 5th World Environment Day” themed promotion and “Environmental Protection Open Day” activity, as the 50th “June 5th World Environment Day” was approaching, primary and secondary students from schools in Xingtai City, their parents, community representatives, environmental supervisors, and news reporters attended the activity at the China Risun Xingtai production base to learn about and experience first-hand the facility’s green production process, operation and development results.
China Risun has organized the "Environmental Protection Open Day" at its Xingtai production base as part of "World Environment Day" for several years, aiming to proactively "open its doors" to public scrutiny of its environmental protection work and to promote environmental protection, facilitating related efforts, and strengthening environmental protection via on-site introductions.
This "Open Day" adhered to the theme of “Building Modernity where People and Nature Can Co-exist Harmoniously”, which was set by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment for this year’s “June 5th World Environment Day”. Under a new environmental protection promotion model that engages the company, society and the public, the activity demonstrated how the Xingtai production base is building environmental protection, green and low-carbon indicators through on-site visits and experiences. It not only created a good atmosphere for the whole community to care about and actively participate in environmental protection, but also allowed multiple parties to understand, participate in and monitor the environmental protection works of enterprises, thus raising the public’s awareness of their responsibility to protect the environment and ecosystem, as well as gather the wisdom and strength to promote green and low-carbon development on a larger scale.
Most of the attendees were visiting a coking chemical company for the first time and were curious about everything there. The staff enthusiastically introduced the development history of China Risun's Xingtai production base, as well as its specific practices and results in attracting investment, technology and talent, and implementing in-depth environmental management. The staff also led a tour of the base’s production and environmental protection equipment, smart energy dispatch management center, coal science and technology museum, safety and environmental protection training base and other facilities, and answered questions from the group.
People often have the impression that coking plants are dirty and polluting, but after visiting China Risun's Xingtai production base, everyone realized that coking plants can also achieve such beautiful and clean environments. Here, the raw materials and products are managed throughout the process in a fully enclosed manner, and the production base achieves high automation, informatization, digitalization, and intelligence. There are green trees and blooming flowers, no strange smells, and no visible smoke, which is surprising and impressive.
As the staff noted, The Group has always been committed to the concept of the best and continuous upgrading of environmental construction and governance. the Group's Xingtai production base is just an example of the group's environmental construction and governance. The group has invested a total of 64.83 billion yuan, completed 285 environmental projects, and obtained 69 environmental technology patents. The emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, etc., are not only lower than the ultra-low emission standards by 20%, but also fully meet the performance standards of the Equator Principles established by the World Bank and international financial institutions. At the same time, the Group has achieved 100% compliant disposal or comprehensive utilization of solid waste, achieving a 100% wastewater recycling rate for the coke plate and a zero-emission technology coverage for wastewater, achieving comprehensive ultra-low emissions, and some production bases have achieved ultra-super low emissions.
In the future, the Group will continue to pursue the path of green manufacturing, with circular utilization as the main approach, vigorously develop energy conservation and emission reduction, promote equipment intelligence, manufacturing intelligence, and operation intelligence.
